My name is Marcus Tan

and I am a painter, illustrator and concept artist for games, film & more. I was born in Singapore, raised in Shanghai, and am currently living in Laguna Beach, CA with two cats and one silly little dream

With one foot in the world of Fine Art and the other in the world of Entertainment, I hope to showcase a unique blend of aesthetics in my art, and to create worlds, characters and stories that are narratively meaningful and emotionally fulfilling.

To me, art is nothing more or less than a medium for storytelling. I’ve always thought of myself as a writer first and artist second, finding the most joy in creating pieces and concepts that are both stylistically and narratively cohesive- a part of something larger and grander than each individual piece alone.

Outside of art, you can find me outdoors. I love skateboarding, snowboarding, backpacking, reading and being surrounded by nature
